Kerna is a privately owned Irish company trading for more than fifteen years and staffed with experts in the field of computer networking and security. Our senior consultants have between twenty and thirty years experience each and with a technical complement of more than sixteen consultants and engineers we are uniquely able to deliver on complex and mission critical services.

Alan Byrne is the founder and managing director of Kerna Communications Ltd. Alan has over twenty-five years experience working in the computer communications industry in development, consulting and service provision. Prior to founding Kerna he worked as a consultant for companies such as Baltimore Technologies, Telecom Eireann, Jutland Telecom (Denmark), Dowty-Case Communications and managed the HEAnet Network Operations Centre for a number of years. Since founding Kerna Communications in 1995 he has led the company to a leading edge position within the networking and security community in Ireland.
